OR Surgery Scheduler: FT, 40 hours, M-F, 8:30am-5pm
Pay Range: $17.87- $28.58/hr (actual offer rates are based upon the applicants relevant experience related to the position)

The OR Surgery Scheduler:  Demonstrates effective management and communication skills.

• Prepares, maintains and updates the master schedule of surgical procedures; communicates changes to appropriate personnel. 
• Prints and distributes the surgery schedule and reports needed by the other departments and personnel. 
• Collaborates with other departments to coordinate exams and treatments, minimizing fragmentation and enhancing patient satisfaction. 
• Enters patient data and appointment information into the computer system; maintains accurate patient logs. 
• Collaborates with unit educator regarding in-services for educator of new equipment and supplies 10%
• Checks on privileges of surgeons requesting the use of lasers in surgery. Notifies medical staff of questionable case scheduling/checks on surgeon privileges. 
• Serves as a resource for entering patient charges for surgery, entering post-operative data and scheduling GI Endoscopy and Sycamore surgery.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient, families, and staff.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience:

• High school graduate or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.). Associate's Degree preferred
• Three years medical secretarial experience or experience in medical office utilizing scheduling software
