Job Description

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

At Altor Solutions, you’ll be the go-to expert who keeps production moving. Picture your day: a quick scan of the preventive maintenance schedule, a call to diagnose a machine fault, a mold changeover to support a product run, then a round of lubrication and inspections to ensure everything operates at peak performance.

What you’ll own

  • Troubleshoot root causes on building systems and production equipment; repair issues efficiently and document work orders via our MRP/ERP process.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on plant machinery and fork trucks to reduce downtime.
  • Keep equipment in top condition by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and oiling tools and machines.
  • Partner with operators to diagnose malfunctions; assist with repairs and adjustments.
  • Perform minor electrical tasks (e.g., replace bulbs and fuses) and assist with light carpentry. If licensed, maintain and perform routine repairs on electrically powered equipment and appliances per directions from senior technicians, supervision, and equipment manuals.
  • Assist with minor plumbing fixture service and replacement.
  • Apply paint, varnish, and stain to protect and finish surfaces as needed.
  • Set up, remove, and store production molds following documented procedures.
  • Bench test, clean, rebuild, and inspect fill guns and ejectors to ensure usability.
  • Support water treatment by collecting, testing, and reporting water samples (e.g., hardness, pH) at multiple process stages.
  • Follow job specifications and task lists; complete all required paperwork accurately.
  • Advance equipment reliability by executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Work safely at all times, including strict adherence to lockout/tagout; wear PPE properly and follow Altor Solutions’ safety and conduct standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and pitch in on designated building/equipment cleaning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED; two-year degree or technical certificate preferred.
  • 3+ years of related maintenance experience; able to work independently with a developed trade specialty.
  • Proficiency reading schematics to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP-based work orders.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining low pressure boilers, air compressors, air driers, and vacuum pumps.
  • Forklift maintenance experience.
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts, overtime, and attend after-hours meetings as needed.
